So I've sent my girl flowers at work a couple of times, but its getting old. I want something a little more bizarre/interesting/funny. Any ideas? Is there an anti-flowers.com?

I think you are talking about Gloxinia
Gloxinia Care Instructions
Scientific Name: Sinningia speciosa
sin-IN-jee-ah spee-see-OH-sah
Water: Moderately moist soil is preferred. Water thoroughly when just the soil surface is dry to the touch. Do not allow plants to stand in water.
Light: Indirect or bright-diffused light is best. Temperature: Prefers 70F-75F degrees during the day and 65F-70F degrees at night.
Tips: Bloom will last from 2-4 weeks with proper care.
Take care not to overwater, as this can prevent buds from developing.
Avoid splashing water on leaves, which can cause yellow spots.
Aphids can be a problem.

Need to preserve a special flower cake?
My kids just got their great-grandma a flower cake. I would like to be able to preserve it so that she can keep it, as it is adorable. It is made with little flowers in the shape of a birthday cake. You can see what one looks like at www.1-800-flowers.com . Does anyone know of the best way to preserve something like this? I heard spraying it with hairspray, but this is also something we can't hang upside down or anything to dry. Any ideas? My step-daughter also got a beautiful bouquet for Valentine's Day that she wants to preserve, it also can not be hung upside down.
Need to preserve a special flower cake?
There is a silicone spray that you can buy in arts and craft stores, ie Michaels, Joanne's (even on-line). That's the best route to take for both the cake and step daughers flowers.

How do you keep roses alive as long as possible?
I received roses by Flowers.com and it gave instructions for the first few days. I was just wondering how i could keep em alive for as long as possible. Any ideas?
How do you keep roses alive as long as possible?
Roses are beautiful! They dont usually last more than a week. But every day-every other day cut the stems a little at an angle, ,and change the water. If you decide to hang and dry them right before they die completely...they look beautiful then too.
Thats what i always do and they usually last about a week and half at least before they start wilting. Also make sure they arnt right in front of an AC or window.
Reply:Use the preserver you got with them, but cut the bottom of the stems off by about 4cm at an angle before putting them in the vase. Keep them cool and away from direct sunlight.
Reply:Look at this site it should help.

Tried flowers.com They only allow orders up to the 2nd of February.
I want to order flowers that will be delivered on the day before valentines day, whats the best site ?
800flowers.com is pretty good about flexible delivery and making things happen. the best idea would be to find a local florist where you want them delivered and go that way. i'm sure they'll be able to accomodate a 2/13 delivery if you call now.
Reply:try walmart.com
Reply:proflowers.com but you have until Feb 8th. They are great, and flowers will arrive ups dhl or fedex before they bloom. They will still be budding.

My sisters turning 21 what should i get from 1-800-flowers.com or FTD.com?
i would like to spend under $50 because i already bought some gift cards and stuff for her
and i'm saving for a new car and she knows that and doesn't want me to spend that much on her (at least she says, at least i know if i had a girl friend and she says that i better spend all i have)
My sisters turning 21 what should i get from 1-800-flowers.com or FTD.com?
I've used both and was very disappointed in each...so I started calling a local florist and had them order for me...all they do is call a florist in the town of delivery and then charge you for it, but its cheaper and you get better flowers
Reply:they are pretty much the same price...personally i use 1-800 flowers..
Reply:I recently used FTD.com to order flowers for a funeral and was really pleased with how they looked.
Reply:Hey, I've sent the Strawberry Margarita before. It went over so well, the person I sent it to started sending them to friends as well. These are fun and fit into the whole 'Legal Drinking Age" vibe of a 21st birthday. Plus, she's your sister, she'll love whatever you get her!!!

It's a fleabane or aster of some sort, I'd need a lot more info to get it to species, and since I can't look at the flower heads closely I can't even be sure of the genus.
Reply:Very probably it is a member of Daisy family ( Asteraceae ), but it`s a pity, that the leaves and flowers are not clearly recognizable. All the while you know the details, so here some pics of Asteraceae to compare with:

An expensive way online for 1 flower but go into any Florist and they would sell you one rose .
Reply:Your best bet is to go to a local florist, even if youre sending out of town it will save you $, there are alot of hidden fees online.

Budget plan for 1-800-flowers.com?
I need to develop a budget plan for 1-800-flowers.com and explain why this budget plan is important to the company. Can any one help??? Please
Budget plan for 1-800-flowers.com?
start with what their objectives are. How do people buy flowers, when, who for. Find ways to inject your message into those times and what does that cost.
What's the average spend on flowers - lets say $40. What's the margin - lets say 50%. What's the allowable marketing spend by customer - lets say $5. how many customers - lets say 10,000. so budget is $50,000. How do you acquire that many at $5 a go. Girls give out cards at the station on valentines day maybe!

I need a company similar to 1800flowers.com but less expensive. i need a company that will deliver flowers to someone in san bernadino, ca on fourth of july
Whats a company similer to 1800- flowers.com?
Go to the website in my source and you will see a list of on-line florists on the left side toward the bottom of the page.
Reply:I don't know prices, but you can try proflowers
Reply:There is also FTD Florists, but I completely would NOT recommend them. At Valentines day I sent my girlfriend flowers which showed up wilted and not what I ordered. Then, as they had a "100% guarantee" deal, I complained and never heard from them again.
1800flowers has always been good for me, though!

can I send something to my teachers using flowers.com anonymously (or like "from your 1st period class")
Is there anyway on the box for the item that the teacher will be able to identify who actually sent it? I want to send 4 of my teachers something, but say it's from the whole class...can I do that?

oh yeah easy there..... ofcourse ur teacher wouldn't able to recognize individual student.....(who would send the particular greeting)
Reply:I don't think they would, or that would defeat the purpose. People do that all the time. Well, maybe not for teachers, but send flowers anonymously.
Reply:yea. you get to choose what they write on the little note thing, so you can just tell them to write its from the whole class.
thats a really sweet idea!
Reply:Of course u can ! if you are scared just open another email id (hide all your original details) and send it to them as if sent by the whole class

Has anyone ordered flowers from 1-800-FLOWERS.com before??
I've never used them before and I REALLY WANT good flowers sent to someone special and will appreciate any comments if you've used them before.
Has anyone ordered flowers from 1-800-FLOWERS.com before??
I have recieved many bouquets from 1-800-Flowers.com. I feel that first and foremost, they are incredibly over priced. Second, they aren't always the best quality, when I had them show up at my house, it wasn't a 1-800-Flowers truck, it was just some local flower shop. You would be much better off giving the flowers to the person yourself, if that's not a possibility because you can't get to the area, etc. I suggest you see what other flower shops in the person's area can offer.

Hi, I know what you mean, we all want the best we can get! Well, Jimmy, not to worry, let me tell how these guys work. They just have a catchy number is all! And some pretty pictures! You call them, same as I did, or do, and they call where ever it is you need the flowers sent! They take a cut of the cost and everyone is happy! Thats IT. They just call the local florist in whatever town or city that the flowers are needed. Because they are who they are, they have "connections" and get special rates. It is cheaper than picking up the phone and calling the local florist because it's a 1-800 number.
Hope this helps. Don't worry, your special sweetie will get exactly what you tell them to give her/him. Just don't bother with the tip, the florist won't get it.. Well, that is unless you speciffically tell them to tip the florist of course.
Reply:I haven't ordered from 1-800-flowers because they are overpriced, but I have received roses sent through them. The roses were beautiful and they did last a long time. They were very well packaged, so much so that it was a bit of a pain to unpack them.
When I was looking for wedding flowers I checked out their website because my mom could get a discount. Even with the discount the flowers were terribly expensive, and the choices were very limited.
Reply:I have received flowers from them and they're OK but I really have been happy with the flowers that I've received from hallmark.com

How does 1-800-flowers.com work?
Anyone ever tried them? How do the flowers arrive and are they bloomed or do you need to wait a few days for the flowers to bloom? Any info will be helpful, thanks.
How does 1-800-flowers.com work?
I have used them both in the USA and UK. The flowers chosen were delivered in perfect condition, in full bloom. The people there were very helpful and answered all my dumb questions.
Reply:I have sent flowers this way many times. I have always ordered arrangements and am told they are beautiful. The work like FTD.
